Agricultural business communications have their own specifics: working with shareholders, communities, partners, regional media, and a large number of stakeholders. Therefore, universal communication tools are not enough. It is important to understand how to adapt them to a specific market and audience.

For the TAS Agro team, we conducted a one-day practical training dedicated to working with the media, writing texts, and communicating on social networks.

Task

The TAS Agro team wanted to systematize approaches to communications and take a deeper look at the tools that work specifically in the agricultural sector.

Our task was not only to convey theoretical knowledge, but also to show how to apply it in the daily work of the communications team.

Therefore, we adapted the program to the participants’ requests and placed the main emphasis on practice.

What was taken apart?

The training covered three key areas.

  • Working with the media. How editorial offices work, where to find journalists’ contacts, how to build communication with them and create informational opportunities.
  • Writing texts. How to create clear and relevant texts for different audiences and communication tasks.
  • Social networks. How to work with content and communication in social networks, taking into account the specifics of the audience and channel.
  • Practice instead of a full-day lecture
  • The theory was immediately supplemented with practical tasks. Participants worked with real communication situations, analyzed examples, and tested the acquired tools in practice.

To prevent intensive learning from turning into a slide marathon, humor and memes were added.

Result

The TAS Agro team received practical tools for daily work with the media, journalists, social networks, audiences, and texts of various formats.

For u.comms, this project became an example of how corporate communications training can be adapted not just to the position of the participants, but also to the specifics of a particular business and its market.
