What was u.comms tasked with?

To provide ongoing communications support for the State Employment Service (SES) and raise awareness of key government programs developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

The core objective was to produce a series of high-quality stories about business grants, employer compensation programs, training opportunities, and employment support for veterans and people with disabilities – using storytelling and real-life success stories to make government initiatives more relatable and accessible.

Communications strategy and in-depth interviews

The u.comms team immersed itself in the regulatory details behind each government program and established a steady content production process, delivering between 5 and 20 pieces per month, including social media posts, articles, and press releases.

In-depth interviews with program participants

Our team conducted more than 20 in-depth interviews with grant recipients, entrepreneurs, and people who received training vouchers. These conversations helped bring the real social and economic impact of government initiatives to life through authentic personal stories.

Here are some examples of the stories and materials we created:

18-year-old Kyiv Polytechnic student Yurii Kohut was among the first to apply for a youth business grant

A new profession, a business grant, and employer compensation: what opportunities does the Ukrainian State Employment Service offer?

Breaking barriers: how Ukrainian entrepreneurs are creating inclusive workplaces

Minimum unemployment benefit increases (press release)

20+ real stories

Conducted more than 20 in-depth interviews and turned the experiences of government program participants into compelling, human-centered stories.
